1320Market Update

Hopefully you have started to notice the changes in the 1320Market – including new food offerings and more variety in prepared food. We have much more to go as our new Executive Director of Food & Beverage, Michael Tsonton, takes the helm, including rotisserie chicken, more grab and go options and greatly improved service. If you have suggestions for items you would like to see, kindly let us know by emailing FB@lakeshoreSF.com.

As a reminder, outside food is not permitted in the club – please purchase your snacks and meals from 1320 Market.

Ford Edge Test Drive

We are collaborating with Ford Motor Company to offer an “unstoppable experience”: please join us on October 24thth to test-drive a 2015 Ford Edge and receive a $25 gift card to Lakeshore Sport & Fitness, compliments of Ford! Cars will be available on Fullerton in front of the club all day long.

Photograph Exhibit in the 1st Floor Hallway

LSF member Kurt Kramer has been making photographs with artistic intent for 47 years and this January will be celebrating his 25th anniversary as a member at Lakeshore. When we decided to put some artwork in the new “LSF Hallway Gallery”, Kurt came to mind.

While a freshman in college, Kurt learned from another student how to develop black-and-white film. These informal lessons sparked a love of photography and a lifelong pursuit. Largely self-taught through reading and various workshops, Kurt has developed his craft and his work has been selected for several juried exhibitions. He maintains a studio (#227) in the Flat Iron Building in Wicker Park and invites you to visit on the First Friday night of every month.

While he has travelled and photographed in Italy, Germany, Scotland, and Cuba, for our hallway Kurt has chosen to show a selection of “Chicago Scenes”. He writes “When making photographs, I try to compose views that are not commonly seen and are appreciated when they are revealed in my photographs.” We hope you’ll enjoy this inaugural exhibit. All the photographs on display are available for purchase. If you have suggestions of other artists that we could profile in this space or others about the club, let us know by emailing MemberServices@LakeshoreSF.com.

Skating Rink

We are pleased to bring back the skating rink this fall: it will be set-up in mid November on the rooftop tennis court. This synthetic ice will be available for open skating, figure and hockey skating lessons, goal shooting and general game play. We have added doors from Caley’s Corner so this year families can prepare and stay warm inside while skaters can enjoy the outside; we are also getting boards for around the rink. More details coming soon – but if you have questions or would like to get more information, email us at MemberServices@lakeshoreSF.com

Amazing Maze Usage and Rules

The Amazing Maze on the rooftop is available for members to use during normal club hours – please feel free to wander around, play tag or other games as you wish. We have two rules: no balls or throwing anything and no climbing on the fence. Also, please keep in mind that we do alter the maze every couple of days so there maybe workers adjusting the maze – but that provides more opportunity to come back to check it out!

Club 48 Event: Maze Runners Capture The Flag 10/23

We are excited to offer a series of special events just for Club 48 members and their friends. Starting on June 15th, we will expand our hours to include service Monday-Friday from 11AM – 9 PM.

We are excited to have an Adults Only section on the South Roof and to offer dining service with the same great menu and service on the Kid’s side of the roof whenever Harvest is open so that your kids can play and you can enjoy a great meal. Please do remember that Harvest is a restaurant space so that means shirts and shoes are required, no children are allowed in the bar area and it is not a place to play. As always, we offer complimentary childcare to those dining at Harvest.

Wine down Wednesdays
Wine Down Wednesday Yoga is now back! Join us every Wednesday during the summer from 6:30pm – 7:30pm on the Great Lawn with Mikhaila followed by a glass of wine among Yogis….Namaste! Please keep in mind that in the event of inclement weather, this class is cancelled.
