LINCOLN PARK COMMUNITY ART CONTEST FOR 9th-12th GRADERS FROM CHICAGO!

2024 First Annual Art Contest — $1,000 prize with artwork displayed at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness locations.

High School students in the Chicagoland area with a passion for art, fitness, and community are invited to submit their artwork!

One winner will receive a $1,000 prize, plus a $500 Blick Art gift card for the supporting art teacher. Your artwork with signature will be displayed at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness locations and used for marketing purposes.

All submissions should be emailed to KidEvents@LakehshoreSF.com by 11:59 PM on May 1st.

The contest winner will be announced at the Lakeshore Art Contest Showcase.


Theme

The artwork should represent what fitness means to a community from your perspective and should include themes of Lakeshore which are:

Team Fun

Fitness

Sports

Friendship and Family

Judging Criteria

Submissions must be from a student in 9th-12th grade. Submissions will be judged on the following parameters:

Artistic Merit: Based on artistic skill.

Creativity: Representation of the contest theme in a fun and exciting way.

Theme Communication: How well the contest theme is expressed in the artwork. Include a written statement no longer than 3-5 sentences explaining how your art showcases the theme.

Medium: This project is intended to be a poster. Paint, drawing, coloring, or digital art is acceptable but must be able to be accessed as a digital image.

Disqualifications

  • Submissions that are not original works, contain logos, or copyrighted imagery will be disqualified.
  • Only one application per student. Only the first submission entered for each student will be considered, and any additional submissions will be disqualified.

Rules are subject to change. Winners will be decided by a panel of judges from the Lakeshore Sport & Fitness leadership team.
