How to Keep Your Kids Active While You Work Out

Finding time to work out as a parent can be a challenge—but it doesn’t have to be. At Lakeshore Sport & Fitness, we believe that staying active should be a family affair. That’s why we offer a variety of programs and amenities to keep your kids moving, learning, and having fun while you focus on your own health and fitness goals.

Here are a few ways we help keep your kids engaged and active—so you can get the most out of your workout time, worry-free.

1. On-Site Childcare (Ages 6 Weeks–12 Years)

Lakeshore Sport & Fitness – Lincoln Park offers complimentary childcare while you enjoy the club or work out on your own. Children are grouped by age in the Play Room (6 weeks–2 years), Kids Korner (2–5 years), and Ted’s Treehouse (5–12 years), each with activities tailored to their needs. Our caring staff ensures a safe, stimulating environment, with crafts, games, story time, and even outdoor play. Let your little ones enjoy their own kind of fun—so you can focus on your own well-being.

2. Youth Aquatics Programs

A great time for parents to work out is when their kids are participating in swim lessons! Whether your child is just learning to swim or already a confident swimmer, our youth aquatics programs are a great way for them to stay active and learn the valuable skills of water safety. Not only do swim lessons teach kids floating, stroke technique, etc., they are a great energy outlet! All classes are taught by experienced certified instructors so you know they’re in good hands.

Bonus: Our indoor pools mean swimming is available year-round, no matter the weather.

3. Kids’ Fitness & Sports Classes

From soccer and basketball to yoga and our TeamX Kid Fit fitness classes, we offer youth programming that encourages a lifelong love of movement. These classes help kids develop coordination, strength, and confidence—all in a fun, supportive setting. Not only can the parents focus on their goals, the kids will develop healthy habits at a young age.

4. School Days Out & Summer Camps

On days when school is closed or during summer break, our camps keep kids busy with a full day of fitness, games, crafts, and swimming. While your child enjoys an enriching day of fun, you can maintain your regular workout schedule.

5. Club48 (Grades 4-8)

Club48 is the ultimate after-school and weekend hangout for kids in 4th–8th grade. With access to spaces like the Igloo, Game Room, Basketball Court, Rooftop, and Yoga Studio, kids get some freedom and independence within a safe, supervised environment while you focus on your workout.

You don’t have to choose between your personal health and your family’s needs. At Lakeshore Sport & Fitness, we make it easier to maintain your fitness goals while giving your kids a space to stay active, social, and engaged.
